Here are some events to keep you busy in Qatar, in the month of December.

KIDS ENTERTAINMENT

Peekaboo Baby Theater – “Wendy Frost”

When & Where: Dec 14, Sharq Village & Spa

Fees: 180 QAR (children, inclusive of a small gift), 90 QAR (accompanying adults)

About: a fairy tale about a little girl called Wendy Frost, where kids can become active participants during many interactive inclusions. Suitable for ages: 8 months to 5 years old. The show duration is 50min.

KIDZVILLE at Hotel Park

When & Where: Nov 15 – Apr 30 (afternoons & evenings), Hotel Park Doha

Fees: FREE

About: various activities for all age groups, including Trampoline Park, Zip Line, Giant Slide, Worlds Largest Bounce Kingdom, and more.

Fun with Science

When & Where: every Thursday between Dec 5-19, Education City Clubhouse

Fees: 65 QAR (or 55 QAR if you’re a QF member)

About: a series of three 1h workshops, each dedicated to a different subject (digital communication & technology, sea plants & animals, rocks).

FAMILY FUN

Balloon Festival

When & Where: Dec 7-18, Aspire Park

Fees: FREE (no information about possible fees available on the website).

About: Qatar’s first festival of hot air balloons, featuring 30 balloons from all around the world. Food trucks, fairground rides, and other entertainment will also be available on site.

Winter Craft Fair at Doha Rugby Club

When & Where: Dec 7 (10AM – 2PM), Doha Rugby Club

Fees: yes, for the entrance to Santa’s Grotto

About: there will be stalls selling everything from cakes to cards, books, clothes, decor, and jewelry. There will also be a BBQ and refreshments, plus a bouncy castle and Santa’s Grotto.

Friday Souq in Education City

When & Where: every Friday between Oct 25 – Dec 13, Oxygen Park in Education City

Fees: FREE

About: an outdoor souq with plenty of vendors selling food, clothes, handmade items and more.

TIME FOR SOME ART!

KAWS: He Eats Alone.

When & Where: Oct 25 – Jan 25, Doha Fire Station, Garage Gallery

Fees: 50 QAR (adults), 25 QAR (nationals, residents, students), free for everyone under 16, culture pass holders and visitors with a disability.

About: the first exhibition in the Middle East by KAWS (Brian Donnelly, born 1974, USA). The solo show explores his career and vast oeuvre and features painting and sculpture made over the past 20 years.

El Anatsui: Triumphant Scale

When & Where: Oct 1 – Jan 21, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art

Fees: 50 QAR (adults), 25 QAR (nationals, residents, students), free for everyone under 16, culture pass holders and visitors with a disability.

About: El Anatsui, born in 1944 in Anyako, Ghana and based in Nsukka, Nigeria since 1975, is Africa’s most prominent living artist. This exhibition encompasses every media used by El Anatsui in his remarkable 50-year career.

Arabian Gulf Cup

When & Where: 24 Nov – 6 Dec, Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium / Khalifa International Stadium

Fees: 50/30/10 QAR, depending on the ticket category

About: the 2019 Arabian Gulf Cup is the 24th edition of the football competition for the eight members of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation.

FIFA Club World Cup

When & Where: Dec 11 – 21, Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium / Khalifa International Stadium / Education City Stadium

About: it is the 16th edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, a FIFA-organised international club football tournament between the winners of the six continental confederations, as well as the host nation’s league champions.

Family Festive Party in Radisson Blu

When & Where: Dec 13, Radisson Blu Hotel

Fees: 160 QAR (adults), 120 QAR (children)

About: event with seasonal music, singing waiters and waitresses, a delicious buffet with something for everyone and cookie decorating, baking and a selection of games and activities for the kids. A visit from Santa is planned as well and he will be there with a gift for each child (aged 11 years and below).
